Footwear For Medical Professionals

While in the distant past operating theatre staff may have worn Wellington boots, it’s more likely surgeons nowadays will don sterile, disposable shoe covers. But what footwear are they wearing underneath? And is it safe/compatible to wear with the covers? With the sheer variety of occupations housed under a hospital’s single roof, a ‘one size fits all’ approach to footwear is hardly apt.
